Quick Lime Lumps

We are a reliable manufacturer, producer, exporter and supplier of Quicklime Lumps in the Indian market. Our Quick Lime is high quality Calcium oxide that is superbly formed by calcining calcium carbonate (lime stone) to liberate carbon di-oxide. Quick Lime is also known as burnt lime, handpicked lime, calcined lime, lump lime or caustic lime in the market.

Quicklime Lump is a whitish, odorless alkaline substance that is insoluble in water. It is also used as lining material. It is used in metal smelting, paper bleaching, sulphur neutralization in sugar. Our fine quality Quicklime is known for their purity and their optimum physical properties make them highly competitive in the market. We have appointed experts at our factories for high quality manufacture. They are available at leading prices in the market.

Chemical properties of Quick Lime Lumps

Quicklime is also known as burnt lime and is manufactured by heating crushed and sorted limestone in a rotary or shaft kiln. Lmestone (CaCO3) is broken down to form quicklime (CaO) and carbon dioxide (CO2). It is then subjected to calcinations in a kiln where it is heated to very high temperature, approximately 1100 degrees Celsius. The high temperatures release carbon dioxide (CO2) from the stone, turning it into calcium oxide.  The process takes about 24-36 hours. When the quicklime comes out of the kiln it is in lumps, grains and powder form. It is finally packaged for sale.

However, if it comes into contact with water, it reacts violently and gives off heat to convert it into slaked lime.
